Terms of Service
Last updated: October 10, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Support Bot Discord application, operated under the name BeaconBot ("we", "us", "the Service"), including the bot itself, the web dashboard, and the admin panel. By adding the bot to a Discord server, logging into the dashboard, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service Is
Support Bot is a Discord bot aimed at support and community-focused servers. Depending on configuration, it provides:
- A ticket system for private support conversations with staff
- Automated detection of messages that may indicate a mental health crisis, with supportive resources and a staff alert (see Section 6 — this is important)
- A configurable word filter with graduated moderation actions (delete, warn, timeout, staff alert)
- Moderation tools: warnings, mutes, a "good behavior" reward system, honeypot anti-raid channels, and a full server audit log
- Community features: mood check-ins, birthdays, a daily positive message, reaction roles, an anonymous-message channel to staff, and a directory of support organizations
- A web dashboard and admin panel for configuring the above per server
Not every feature is available on every plan or every server; a server's administrator controls what is enabled.
2. Eligibility
The Service runs on Discord and is subject to Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including Discord's minimum age requirement. We do not independently verify age or identity beyond what Discord itself requires or reports to us.
3. Server Administration & the Dashboard
A server owner or a member with the "Manage Server" permission can add the bot, and can log into the web dashboard via "Log in with Discord" to configure it for servers where they have administrative rights. You are responsible for how the bot is configured on your server, including which features are enabled, who is granted staff roles within the bot, and what words, keywords, or messages are added to its filters.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or the systems it runs on
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or endanger others, including by misusing moderation features against members in bad faith
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the Service's subscription or access controls
- Use the anonymous-messaging or crisis-detection features to submit knowingly false reports intended to waste staff time or harass a staff team
We may suspend or remove the bot from a server, or restrict dashboard access, for violations of these Terms.
5. Subscriptions, Billing & Free Trial
Certain features require an active subscription. New servers typically receive a free trial period; after it ends (or if a subscription lapses, is cancelled, or payment fails), the bot may automatically leave the server. All settings and data configured for that server are kept, so re-adding the bot after subscribing restores your previous configuration.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details ourselves. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via the dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide partial-period refunds except where required by law or at our discretion. In limited cases (for example, a manual arrangement outside Stripe), access may instead be granted and revoked directly by us through the admin panel.
6. Crisis Detection & Safety Features — Please Read
Support Bot is a moderation and community-support tool, not a crisis service, and not a substitute for professional help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services, or a crisis line such as 113 (Netherlands, 0800-0113, free, 24/7) or your country's equivalent, directly.
When enabled by a server administrator, the bot scans messages for configured crisis-related keywords. When one matches, the bot may: remove the message, send the author a direct message with supportive resources, and alert a human staff member with the message content so they can follow up. This process relies on keyword matching, is not perfect, and can miss messages, produce false positives, or react slower than a human would in an emergency. We are not responsible for a server's staff response time, for missed or incorrectly flagged messages, or for any outcome related to a mental health crisis. Server administrators and staff who enable and use this feature are responsible for having a real plan to follow up with members it flags.
7. Service Availability & Changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uptime, and the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature, or the Service as a whole, at any time, with or without notice.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server or cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, including removing the bot from a server or disabling dashboard access, for violation of these Terms, non-payment, abuse of the Service, or at our discretion with reasonable notice where practical.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, dashboard, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors. Content you configure (such as custom messages, server-specific settings, or word lists) remains yours; by configuring it you grant us the right to store and process it solely to operate the Service for your server.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including, without limitation, outcomes related to the crisis-detection feature described in Section 6. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the three months before the claim arose.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
